Dr. Facundo Manes, Ph.D. in Science from the University of Cambridge, is an internationally renowned neurologist and neuroscientist. He received training in the United States—at Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics—and earned his doctorate in Science from the University of Cambridge, UK. After a distinguished clinical and academic career abroad, he returned to Argentina, where he founded the Institute of Cognitive Neurology (INECO), the Neuroscience Institute at the Favaloro Foundation, and the INECO Foundation, establishing himself as a central figure in the development of modern cognitive neuroscience in Latin America. His research focuses on the neurobiology of decision-making, memory, emotions, social behavior, and consciousness. He has published over 250 scientific papers in the most prestigious international journals. He has led key organizations such as the Research Group on Aphasia, Dementia and Cognitive Disorders of the World Federation of Neurology, the International Society for Frontotemporal Dementias, and the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee of the Argentine National Congress. Since December 2021, he has served as a National Deputy. His career—uniquely combining clinical practice, scientific research, public communication, and social commitment—positions him as one of the most influential voices in the dialogue between science and society. Firmly convinced that a nation’s true development lies in its human capital, education, science, and technology, Dr. Manes works tirelessly to turn that ideal into concrete public policies that improve people’s lives.
