Nabeel Goheer

Dr. Goheer is a renowned international professional in strategy and development diplomacy. He is Director from the Strategic Planning and Evaluation Division (SPED) and Secretary to the Governing Boards of the Commonwealth in London, UK.

His career spans over 18 years as a diplomat, international consultant, and civil servant, working in South Asia, Middle East, North Africa, Europe, Americas and the Caribbean in places such as the World Bank, UNDP, ILO, the British Council and the Government of Pakistan. Before joining the Commonwealth, he worked as Global Coordinator of Youth and Women development programmes for a United Nations Agency in Geneva, Switzerland and taught at the International University of Japan, International Training Centre of the ILO in Italy, and Punjab University in Pakistan.

He won several awards including UN fellowship for residency at the Harvard University, USA and published four books and several research articles in the international journals.

Dr. Goheer holds a PhD in Management from Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK; a Master of Philosophy (with Distinction) from Cambridge-MIT Institute (CMI); a Master’s Degree (with Distinction) in International Development Economics from the International University of Japan (IUJ), and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan.
