Guillermo Laborato
General Manager, Latin America & Global Strategic Planning Director Packaging and Converting Business - DOW
Guillermo Laborato has played an active role in shaping and developing Dow’s new $1.6 billion Packaging and Converting business, both on a global and regional scale.
Guillermo joined the Leather business of Rohm and Haas/Dow in 1989 as an account manager in Argentina. He played a critical role in the creation of the leather partnership with Lanxess, which continues today. In 1999, Guillermo moved to the Coatings business, where he developed a new business model for the textile business segment.
Since 2003, Guillermo has worked to strengthen and grow the company’s expertise in adhesives and functional polymers. He has brought considerable success in the marketplace across Latin America, and has played an increasing role at the global level in business strategy, people management and new product development. Guillermo has served as Country Manager for Rohm and Haas Argentina since 2004, and served on the leader teams of the Packaging and Building Materials and Adhesives and Functional Polymers businesses before assuming his current role in June 2010.
Guillermo holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional. In addition, he is a graduate of several key University of Pennsylvania programs at the Wharton School – Finance and Accounting, Strategic Thinking and Management for Competitive Advantage, and Marketing Excellence.
