Claudio Fernández Aráoz

Claudio Fernández Aráoz is a Senior Adviser of Egon Zehnder International and has been a member of its Global Executive Committee for over ten years.

He subsequently worked at McKinsey & Co. in Europe before joining Egon Zehnder International in 1986, where he had several key global roles in addition to his executive search work with clients. He was the founding Leader of the firm’s Management Appraisal practice, later became the leader of its Professional Development, and most recently the leader of the firm’s Intellectual Capital Development.

He has also published several bestselling pieces on the topic of People Decisions. These include the Harvard Business Review articles “Hiring Without Firing” and “The Definitive Guide to Recruiting in Good Times and Bad”, as well as the MIT Sloan Management Review “Getting the Right People at the Top” and “Making People Decisions in the New Global Environment”.

He was repeatedly chosen by Business Week as one of the most influential search consultants in the world.

His personal advice has been sought by the CEOs of several of the largest companies on earth.
